Batteries in Vítkovice after the first year in the service of the Czech power industry: 98% reliability and 87% efficiency

The battery in Ostrava's Vítkovice, which was the most powerful facility of its type in the Czech Republic when it was put into operation last year, has been successfully fulfilling its tasks in the transforming Czech energy sector for a year now. The 10 MW storage system works in conjunction with the gas-fired cogeneration units of the modernised Energocentre and helps to stabilise the grid and ensure the required electricity parameters. The total value of accumulated energy during the annual operation exceeded 2,000 MWh, the number of operating hours exceeded 8,500. At the same time, certification for additional power balance services was successfully extended during the first year.
