CCGT and small combined heat and power units
The CEZ Group is operating CCGT Power Plant (combined cycle power plant) in Počerady (Czech republic). Currently we are completing the construction of CCGT in the Turkish Egemer.
CCGT Počerady
Počerady CCGT is the first project of its kind in the Czech Republic. This energy source with an output of 838 MWe is located on the site of the existing coal power plant Počerady in the north-west part of the Czech Republic, nearly in the middle among the towns of Louny, Zatec, and Most.
CCGT Egemer in Turkey
CEZ also operates the Egemer steam-gas power plant in Turkey with an installed capacity of 872 MW. The plant was commissioned by Akenerji - a joint venture with a Turkish partner. It is an extremely efficient power plant with an efficiency of more than 57% and an expected lietime operation of at least 30 years.
It was necessary to carry out extensive earthmoving works during the construction, including using 1,100 concrete foundation piles and 9,000 loose gravel foundation piles, which were drilled to a depth of 20 meters. Another specific feature was the construction of a seawater feeder, which serves both for cooling and as a water source for the power plant. The water inlet is routed approximately 1500 meters along the seabed and an additional 800 meters of pipeline is installed on land.
Construction began in October 2011, the first gas turbine was ignited in March the following year. The plant could produce up to 7000 GWh of electricity per year.
Small combined heat and power units (CHP)
ČEZ Energo, a daughter company of ČEZ ESCO and the producer of smal CHP units TEDOM, is the biggest operator of small CHP units in the Czech Republic.
