Unit 1 is in operation at planned power level. At Unit 2, a planned outage is under way, that is connected with the annual refueling of the reactor fuel. The auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.
The outage of the plant's Unit 2 is going to last by about two weeks longer. The reason for this are additional works, the need of which arose during the final reactor assembly. In particular, cleaning and drying reactor lid sub-components has to be done, where 1.5 m3 of water got at reactor filling. The water was drained into a collection tank. For cleaning and drying of the components, lid dismantling is necessary. State Office for Nuclear Safety has been informed of the event. Event has been provisionally assessed by INES scale degree 0, when no limits and conditions of operation are violated.
Most of the important work planned for the outage was already done. Fuel is replaced, reactor pressure vessel's and safety systems' inspections have been completed, three containers with spent fuel have been transported to the storage. Also, works on the turbine are performed in accordance with the time schedule. New rotors are established in their positions and turbine is ready for the performance of its balancing.
According to the updated schedule, the Unit's production of electricity will be restored early in July.
The international INES scale evaluates various events, failures and faults at nuclear facilities. The scale has eight levels; the more significant failures are from the level four. The lowest level is INES 0, which means a deviation, when no limits and conditions of operation are violated.
