CEZ Group´s structure in Bulgaria will approximate to funcioning of CEZ in the Czech Republic

Lubos Pavlas will be the new general director of CEZ Bulgaria and country manager of CEZ Group for Bulgaria from New Year´s Day

CEZ Group´s distribution companies in Bulgaria and the power plant Varna, which came into CEZ Group at the beginning of October, will be run by unified management of CEZ Bulgaria.  Lubos Pavlas has been appointed its general director with effect from 1 January 2007. He is coming to CEZ Bulgaria management from an expert team managing CEZ Group´s distribution company Electrica Oltenia. Lubos Pavlas will also become the country manager of CEZ Group for Bulgaria.

From May to October 2006 Lubos Pavlas worked as CEZ Group´s pre-acquisition observer in the Varna power plant in Bulgaria.

The new structure of CEZ Group in Bulgaria should make the present activities more efficient and eventuate in costs optimalization due to vertical integration in the Bulgarian energy sector.

CV of Lubos Pavlas

Lubos Pavlas joined CEZ Group at the beginning of last year after a long-term work as general director and chairman of the board of Prazska teplarenska. He was the chairman of the executive board of the Association for District Heating of the Czech Republic and chairman of the board of directors of the Czech Association of Energy Sector Employers (CSZE) up to last year. Lubos Pavlas graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague where he focused on economy and energy management, and Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Plzen where he studied post-gratuate programme specializing in the development of heat supply.

He speaks and writes English and Russian fluently and has passive knowledge of German. His hobbies are squash, golf, ice-hockey, travelling and viniculture. Lubos Pavlas is married and has three children.
