Information on NPP Temelín 118 / 2007

The first Unit is operated at a planned power level. At Unit 2, the planned outage connected with the replacement of ¼ of fuel in the reactor is under way. All auxiliary systems of the power plant are working in accordance with the operation needs.

At Unit 2, the workers of the power plant are filling the reactor and the reactor coolant system with the coolant. Tonight, the performance of the cold pressure test is planned. The test will verify the correctness of the assembly and the leak tightness of all the part after the planned works have been completed during the outage. Should the cold pressure test be successful, the pressure test at a heated up reactor coolant system and a pressure in it of 17,65 MPa will follow. The normal operation pressure is 15,7 MPa. The tests are normally included into the preparation for the reactor restart after refueling. At the Unit 2 machine hall the assembly of the turbine generator is under way. There was made a modernization of the high pressure turbine rotor. This should enable an increase of the turbine generator output to at least 1020 MWe.
