During the outage, 42 fresh modernized fuel assemblies will be loaded into the reactor, which will replace the same number of spent fuel elements. In addition to the regular replacement of 1/4 of fuel, the reactor pressure vessel will be also inspected. The inspection is made in four-year cycles and the goal of it is to verify the conditions of the pressure vessel, in which there is located the reactor. Additional important work is the modernization of the fuel loading machine, which consists of the replacement of the so-called working and TV rod and of the installation of the new control system. After its completion, the machine will be also prepared for manipulations with the fuel assemblies of the TVEL company. The transport of the dummy container CASTOR that is assigned for the transportation and storage of the spent fuel will be tested for the first time to the reactor hall. The most important activity in the non-nuclear part will be the six-year revision of the generator connected with the rotor replacement.
The outage schedule includes more than seven thousands activities. In addition to the power plant's workers, almost 100 supplier companies will participate on their provision. The outage will finish by a permanent generator connection to the distribution power grid that is planned for the Monday October 6.
