Information on NPP Temelín 2/2006
The first and the second Units are operated at a planned power level. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units. This evening, Unit 2 of the Temelín power plant will be shut down as planned.
The reason of the outage is the replacement of the high pressure turbine rotor and a modification of a part of the diffusers. It is the postponed unit outage that was originally planned for the second half of December 2005. Since July 18, the turbine is operated without the fourth impeller of the high pressure turbine at a lower power level. After the replacement that will take place in the end of January, the Unit 2 power will return back to the design level of 980 MWe.
In addition to the high pressure turbine rotor, a series of equipment revisions as well as maintenance works primarily at some pumps and valves are planned. An integral part of the outage will be a regular test of the reactor control rods. On January 4 and 5, Unit 2 will be cooled down by means of steam dump to atmosphere, which will be accompanied by noise audible in the close surroundings of the power plant. To a lesser degree, the Unit steam dump will be accompanied by noise through to January 10, 2006. Information on parameters at Unit 1 today on January 3, 2006 at 07:15 o‘clock:
