CEZ clarified non-binding bid in the tender concerning Bulgarian Belene Nuclear Power Plant

Today CEZ power company submitted clarified indicative bid on the basis of an inquiry of the Bulgarian NEK power company which last year declared tender for a strategic partner in construction and operation of the Bulgarian nuclear power plant under construction .

CEZ enlisted itself to the tender for 49 % share in Belene Power Company in June of the last year. It submitted its indicative bid in October 2007.

No details will be published concerning content of the bid. NEK shall decide on the next steps on the basis of the indicative bids assessment. In October 2006 NEK company selected Russian company Atomstrojexport as the general contractor for Belene Nuclear Power Plant. The project is valued at EUR 4 billion and includes construction of two 1000 MW units with VVER (pressurized water reactor) type third generation reactors.
