ČEZ and Vršanská Uhelná from the Sev.en Energy Group agreed on the transfer of the Počerady Power Plant at the end of this year, three years earlier than planned.
ČEZ Energy Group and Vršanská Uhelná from the Sev.en Energy Group have agreed that the Počerady Power Plant burning brown coal will be transferred to Vršanská Uhelná at a higher purchase price at the end of this year, as of December 31, 2020. The transfer of the power plant was already agreed in a contract from 2013, and was to take place on January 2, 2024. ČEZ is thus further fulfilling its strategy of gradually moving away from coal-fired power plants and switching to low-emission or completely emission-free sources.

ČEZ continues on its path towards an emission-free future. The Prunéřov I coal power plant belongs in the history books, but its location looks to the distant future of energy production
Prunéřov – ČEZ continues to pursue its strategy of a gradual transition to low- or zero-emission production of electricity, based on renewable sources and nuclear power, and complemented by steam-gas sources for the requirements of the heating industry. After fifty-three years of operation, the 440 MW Prunéřov I coal power plant is now shutting down.

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and ČEZ Announce Small Modular Reactor Technology Collaboration in the Czech Republic
GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) and ČEZ, a. s., an integrated electricity conglomerate, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding through which the companies have agreed to examine the economic and technical feasibility of potentially constructing a BWRX-300 in the Czech Republic.

CEZ and Sokolovská uhelná have reached an agreement and put an end to their long commercial disputes
The agreement foresees a new purchase contract for the supply of brown coal from Sokolovská uhelná and the sale of the Tisová Power Plant by the CEZ Group to Sokolovská uhelná. In addition, both parties have agreed to take steps to put an end to all existing lawsuits and not to raise any more claims.
