The Secondary School of Industry in Třebíč offers the “Energy Sector” programme that has been established in order to ensure generational change at the Dukovany power plant.  Approximately 70 applicants enrol for the programme every year.  This September, the school opened the 14th class in the discipline.

For many years, we have been organising the Summer University at Dukovany – special internships for students at technical universities, who have an interest in nuclear energy.  Several dozen students spend two weeks at the power plant, where they attend specialised lectures and visit interesting places throughout the facility.  The Summer University offers them a great opportunity to get to know every detail of the power plant, to meet experts, and to consult with people from practice about the theory they have learned.

In addition to the Summer University, we also organise “Nuclear A-Levels” for secondary school students at Dukovany – a three-day internship for students from ČEZ Group partner secondary schools at our nuclear power plants.

The Dukovany power plant also offersindividual internships to people interested in working under the cooling towers in the future.

Through our information centres, we educate the general public who are interested in the energy sector and in learning how nuclear power plants work.  Our information centre at the Dukovany nuclear power plant welcomed a total of 36,457 visitors in 2022.

The ReakTour is a huge draw offered by our information centres.  It is a group tour of the most strictly guarded premises of the nuclear power plant in special VR glasses.  It transports visitors, to such places as the reactor, into a cooling tower, or to the block surveillance centre.  We launched the ReakTour at Dukovany in the autumn of 2022

We offer on-line tours of the Dukovany nuclear power plant, known as Virtuálně v elektrárně. A tour that lasts up to one hour and is offered free of charge will take visitors to places that even most of our staff do not get to see and includes a competition in which they can win a prize.  The on-line tours are offered to the general public as well as, for example, schools.
