Business show their interest in gas from ČEZ

In addition to electric power supply ČEZ Group offers gas supplies to its enterprise customers since the last August. In four months ČEZ managed to gain, for deliveries from the beginning of the next year, over 90 companies to which it will supply in total 1.6TWh of power to over 200 supply locations. With that ČEZ achieved 4% share in the major customer segment.

These include in particular supplies to industrial companies, however later ČEZ extended its offer also to smaller enterprises. Most supplies will be initiated at the beginning of 2010. Nevertheless some customers started to buy gas from ČEZ already in the last months of this year.

"In particular this is an extension of our services provided to our existing customers buying electric power from us. We offer comfort of one power supplier providing both electric power and gas. Although it was only a trial offer by which we intended to test interest of our customers, the results exceeded our expectations and will significantly contribute to profit of ČEZ Prodej already in 2010," said Alan Svoboda, sales director of ČEZ and added: "We buy gas, among other commodities, on European markets and exchanges. Thanks to current price reductions the offer to our customers is actually attractive both in case of the fixed price and the price derived from the formula related to prices of other fuels. We use experience from our trading which is successful on commodity exchanges in the whole Europe on long term basis."
