Dukovany expanded scope of weld inspections in preparation for the further long-term operation

During this year inspections of welds of units 2 and 3 of Dukovany nuclear power plant will continue in the extended amount. The reason of the extension of checks is to avoid any doubts about the reliability and safety of the facilities. The power plant will obtain the maximum degree of certainty and up-to-date documentation, which will be used when documenting facility status as part of application for further operations licences.

Since April 23 unit 3 is undergoing planned shutdown which will end on October 19, 2016. Planned shutdown of Unit 2 will run in similar mode as of Unit 1. It will commence on September 16 and will continue until 2017. Unit 4 is in a start-up mode after a planned shutdown. It will start delivering electricity on Saturday, May 14.
