Information on NPP Temelín November 25, 2008

This afternoon Temelín NPP Unit 2 was disconnected from the grid. The reason for it was the impact of the ground generator protective system. The event did not have any influence on the nuclear safety. The cause has been under investigation.

The nuclear power plant management has decided to use this unplanned unit outage to carry out the regular test of the clusters, which was planned for December 27th – 28th, 2008. This means that before the end of this year we will not have to disconnect Unit 2 from the grid due to the clusters test. The prepared schedule assumes that the electricity from Unit 2 should be again supplied on Thursday 27th November 2008.
