Slovnaft has acquired full control over thermal power plant by purchasing stake held by CEZ Group

On 30 November 2016 SLOVNAFT, a.s. signed agreements to acquire a 75.5% ownership share in the company CM European Power Slovakia, s.r.o., thereby increasing its stake to 100%. 24.5% stake is being purchased from ČEZ, a. s. and 51% stake from CM European Power International B.V, which is a 50:50 joint venture of ČEZ and MOL.

CM European Power Slovakia, s.r.o. is the owner and operator of the thermal power plant located within the premises of SLOVNAFT, a.s., which supplies the refinery with heat and electricity. This plant has an installed capacity of 174 MW; it generated 370 GWh of electricity and 4,540 TJ of heat in 2015. During the existence of CM European Power Slovakia, s.r.o., a joint-venture company established in cooperation with the ČEZ group, the thermal power plant undertook extensive reconstruction and modernization and currently fulfils all relevant environmental and safety requirements for its operation.
