CEZ has bid for the power plant Pljevlja and a share in the adjoining coal mine

CEZ Power Company has today submitted a bid for a purchase of the Montenegro thermal power plant Pljevlja and a 31.1% share in the mining company Rudnik uglja, A.D., which supplies the plant with fuel ? brown coal.

„Pljevlja power company and the adjoining company are situated in the area of our interest, in South-Eastern Europe. The CEZ Group has already been operating in the electricity distribution field in Bulgaria and Romania,“ said Martin Roman, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The thermal power plant is the only thermal power plant in Montenegro with the generating capacity of 210 MW, and covers ca 40% of electricity production in Montenegro. The yearly power consumption in Montenegro reaches ca 4.5 TWh of electrical energy, one-third of which is imported from the neighbouring countries.
