Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. The Unit 1 reactor is in operation at reduced power.

June 2, 2006

Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. The Unit 1 reactor is in operation at reduced power. The Unit 1 power has been reduced tonight.

The reason for it was incorrect function of the pressure measurement in the glands of one out of four reactor coolant pumps. The pump has been shut down for a short period and the reactor power has been, in compliance with the design, automatically reduced to half. This morning after having performed the event analysis, the technicians decided to perform a test of reactor control rods connected with a turbine trip. After its assessment, it will be decided on the next procedure.
All auxiliary systems of the power plant are in operation in accordance with the operational needs of the units.
