Information on NPP Temelín 149/2006

Shortly before 5 a.m. today, the turbine generator of Unit 2 has been synchronized to the distribution grid. After about twenty minutes of operation, an activation of a turbine technology protection occurred and the turbine has been automatically switched off.

Shortly before 5 a.m. today, the turbine generator of Unit 2 has been synchronized to the distribution grid. After about twenty minutes of operation, an activation of a turbine technology protection occurred and the turbine has been automatically switched off. In accordance with the design, the reactor power has been decreased to 36% RTP. The power plant's technicians inquire into the reasons of the turbine generator switch off. After the clarification of the event, the turbine generator will be re-connected to the distribution grid.
At Unit 1, a planned outage is under way, that is connected with the annual refueling of 1/4 of the reactor fuel. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

· Unit is in Mode 1 - power operation
· Reactor power is 35 %
· Turbine generator output - 0 MWe
· Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 4 114 225 MWh
