August 25 2006

Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. Tonight, its regular planned two months‘ outage for refueling will be started. At 18 o’clock, the operators will begin reduction of its power and, several hours later, the Unit 2 will stop to deliver electricity into the national distribution grid.
At Unit 1, the technicians have successfully completed all prescribed reactor core physics tests at power levels up to 90%. The State Office for Nuclear Safety is now assessing the documents submitted to the achievement of the planned reactor power of 97%, at which the final physics tests will take place. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

Information on parameters at Unit 1 today on August 25, 2006 at 07:30 o‘clock:
· Unit is in Mode 1 – power operation
· Reactor power is 90 %
· Turbine generator output – 905 MWe
· Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 3 666 405 MWh

Information on parameters at Unit 2 today on August 25, 2006 at 07:30 o‘clock:
· Unit is in Mode 1 – power effect operation *
· Reactor power is 82 %
· Turbine generator output – 821 MWe
· Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 4 593 825 MWh

*Power effect – a use of the reactor core physics properties that make possible the maximum possible exploitation of the energy contained in the fuel. It comes into exploitation exclusively at the end of the fuel campaign; it is due to it that the fuel campaign may be prolonged by up to 20 days. It is accompanied by the stepwise reactor power reduction by about 0,7 % per day.
