Information on NPP Temelín 181 / 2007

At Unit 1, a planned outage is under way, that is connected with the annual refueling of ¼ of the reactor fuel. Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

The cold pressure test of the primary circuit of the Unit 1 was successfully completed yesterday at a pressure of 3,3 MPa. Its goal was to verify the tightness of the nuclear part of the power plant after the performed fuel substitution and back assembly of the reactor. Similar pressure test was successfully carried out also on the secondary part of the power station at a pressure of 1,8 MPa.

The test of operation of one of the two diesel generators common to both blocks was started yesterday in the evening after the planned revision. A defect on its motor emerged in the course of the test. The cause of the defect is investigated at present.

The works related to repeated start of the block go on; hot pressure tests of the primary circuit at a pressure of 17,6 MPa and of the secondary circuit at a pressure of 8,8 MPa will be performed at the weekend. The time schedule of outage supposes that the first block will re-initiate its operation at the end of September.
