Information on NPP Temelín 202/2006

A regular planned test of the reactor control organs has been successfully carried out during the past weekend at Unit 1 and the Unit was synchronized to the distribution grid yesterday in the morning hours.

October 16, 2006

This morning at 5:30 a.m., one of the Unit 1 turbine generator protections actuated the automatic turbine trip and reduced the reactor power as required by the design to 37% of the rated power. The reason of it was moisture in one of the electric parts of the generator in the non-nuclear part of the power plant. After examination of the cause and performance of correction measures, the technicians will restore the electricity delivery from the Unit.
At Unit 2, the planned outage is continued that is connected with the yearly replacement of 1 of the reactor fuel. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.
