Information on NPP Temelín 206 / 2008

Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. At Unit 1 physical tests at the minimum reactor power level were made on Saturday. After that the power ascension tests were carried out at the reaktor power of 30 %. These tests were interrupted on Sunday.

During the final turbine generator tests prior to the synchronization to the power distribution grid, a failure has been found on the flow through part (rotor) of the third low pressure turbine. The operations personnel interrupted the power ascension tests and brought the unit into Mode 3. Currently, cooling down of the secondary part is under way. The power plant workers open the low pressure turbine in the second half of the week and the subsequent inspection will find out the fault reason and, then, the repair’s method and length will be established.
