October 31, 2006

All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.
The technicians prepare the Unit 2 to restart of operation and synchronization with our distribution grid. The unit 2 outage will be prolonged in comparison with the preliminary planned date. The reason of it was the completion of all necessary analyses after the refueling. The analyses are guarantee of the further safe operation of Unit 2 in its 4th fuel campaign and they were submitted together with other documents to the application to SÚJB for the permit of the reactor start.
„Under operations conditions the fuel has shown larger deviations than originally expected. Therefore, we will observe in detail its behavior based on a prepared monitoring program. In the same time, ČEZ in co-operation with the manufacturer proceeded also to gradual modifications of the design of the newly manufactured fuel using different materials and to the implementation of some organization measures in order to limit the deviations. We have even prepared the variants of potential more frequent unit outages for the refueling in the future, where we would use the newly modified fuel assemblies, “says to the conclusion of the Unit 2 outage the spokesman Milan Nebesář.
