Information on NPP Temelín 77/2007

Unit 2 is in operation at planned power. At Unit 1, works are under way on the drying of the collecting device of the generator exciter.

April 17, 2007

The technicians presume that the works will be shortened by 2 days and the Unit will be synchronized to the grid on Saturday. This morning, the technicians found at an inspection of the steel cables of the containment (protective envelope) cap that one of the 36 cables that pre-stress this reinforced concrete envelope is broken. The event was examined in the usual way during the day and the cable will be replaced in compliance with the process procedures in the following outage. In accordance with the design, the unit may be operated with up to 4 missing cables out of the total number of 96 in the cylindrical part and 2 missing cables of the total number of 36 in the containment cap.
All auxiliary systems of the power plant are in operation in accordance with the operational needs of the units.
