Information on NPP Temelín 79 / 2008

Both Unit 1 and 2 are in operation at full rated power. The auxiliary systems of the power plant are working in accordance with the operation needs.

Today at 1:09 o’clock, Unit 2 was transferred to the operation on the so called power effect of reactivity. During this period, the reactor power will slowly decrease to the level of about 80 % RTP. Following the reactor output the turbo generator output will also decrease. The power reduction will be terminated on Friday May 9, when the unit will be planned shutdown for the refueling.

The operation on the power effect of reactivity is being used at the end of the fuel campaign several days before the oncoming refueling outage. The sense of it is to use the fuel assemblies of the given campaign at the most effective manner at a continually decreasing reactor power. The lower power makes it possible to acquire residual energy from the most burned up fuel assemblies.

Information on parameters at Unit 1 today on April 22, 2008 at 9:00 o‘clock:

  • Unit is in Mode 1 – power operation
  • Reactor power is 100 %
  • Turbine generator output - 1016 MWe
