Information on NPP Temelín 84 / 2007

Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. At Unit 1, the circulation water pump repair has been completes yesterday in the afternoon and the unit has been synchronized to the power distribution grid.

This morning at 2:21 o’clock, a trip of one of four reactor coolant pumps occurred at Unit 1. The reason was a false actuation of an electric protection. In full compliance with the design, the reactor power reduction to 50 % occurred and subsequently to its shutdown. The technicians currently perform the replacement of the electric protections of the pump, then, they will tests them and will start the preparations to the Unit 1 restart to operation.

The preliminary evaluation of the event by the international scale is INES-0 deviation. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

· Reactor power is 0 %
· Turbine generator output - 0 MWe
· Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 671 996 MWh

Information on parameters at Unit 2 today on April 26, 2007 at 08:30 o‘clock:
· Unit is in Mode 1 - power operation
· Reactor power is 100 %
· Turbine generator output - 1010 MW
· Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 2 760 145 MWh
