The newest company of the CEZ Group has been founded ? CEZ Distribution Services, s.r.o., based in Ostrava.

A newly established company of the CEZ Group ? CEZ Distribution Services, s.r.o. is going to start its activity on July 1 next year. More than 2,200 people, placed all around the area of the CEZ Group, will find work there. Besides the employees of Severomoravska energetika, a.s., also employees of distribution joint-stock companies Vychodoceska energetika, Zapadoceska energetika, Severoceska energetika and Stredoceska energetika are moving there.

The newly established company will provide operation, breakdown service and maintenance for distribution grids of the entire CEZ Group, namely at all voltage levels including consequential activities. The centralization of these activities will bring significant economies and higher efficiency in the mentioned processes. Together with CEZ Distribution Services there is CEZ Logistics, which is already providing purchase for the whole CEZ Group, in Ostrava.

„The establishment of the new company is a part of CEZ Group´s transformation and is in accordance with the project VIZE 2008. Our goal is to occupy the lead position within the European power firms with top know-how,“ says Petr Zachoval, agent of CEZ Distribution Services.

The establishment and operation of the new company will not bring any change to the customers of the distribution companies. In case of breakdowns, they can still contact call centres on 840 850 860.

VIZE 2008 is a project within the entire CEZ Group, which comprises roughly 90 firms around the CEZ Company. The project aims to reach synergetic effects and improvements within the whole CEZ Group by 2008. The organization of the CEZ Group will be changed from regional to functional. Above all, the distribution firms from the CEZ Group will be divided into trade and distribution parts. At the same time, a number of supporting activities will be earmarked to shared centres (daughter companies) for the whole CEZ Group (e. g. Information systems, telecommunication, electrometer services, custom services, grid operation and maintenance, purchase, logistics, estate administration, etc.) Corporate services such as finances, human resources, risk management, mergers/acquisitions and others will be common in the entire Group as well. That will give a rise to a holding-type structure.
