The Temelín Power Plant acquired the valuation Safe Enterprise

The Temelín Power Plant acquired, together with another 9 Czech firms, the valuation Safe Enterprise. Hereby, it ranked with the Dukovany Power Plant (which defended the certificate today) in the society of 52 enterprises of the Czech Republic that hold this valuation of Industrial Safety level.

Today in Prague, Mr. Petr Vobořil the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors will take over the certificate for the ČEZ, a. s. company from the hands of the General Inspector of the State Office of Labor Inspection Mr. Jaromír Elbel and of the First Deputy of the Minister of Labor and Social Matters Mr. Petr Šimerka.

The award of the valuation Safe Enterprise to both Czech nuclear power plants has been preceded by an internal audit of the Industrial Safety management system in April and May that was carried out in accordance with the program „Safe Enterprise“, proclaimed by the  State Office of Industrial Safety. The external audits in Temelín and Dukovany that were carried out by the members of staff of the Industrial Safety Inspectorate took place from June 21 to 30, 2005. It was stated in their conclusions that the organization proceeds in compliance with the declared safety policy and objectives and meets the requirements specified by the „Safe Enterprise" program in the scope that pertains to it. In addition to that, it was stated that the implemented Industrial Safety management system is a part of the company management system and is fully functional.

„The audit results and the subsequent award of the certificate Safe Enterprise in Temelín and Dukovany are an unambiguous signal that there is set a good trend leading to steady improvement of the industrial safety and health protection levels and to the reduction of the personal accident rate in the Czech nuclear power plants,“ states Milan Nebesář.

The program „Safe Enterprise“ has been officially proclaimed by the Minister of Labor and Social Matters in December 1996. Since April 28, 2005, altogether 48 companies have been holders of the valid certificate „Safe Enterprise“, which represented about 44.000 employees. After the present-day award, the number of such enterprises grew up to 52 and the Power Plant Temelín ranked among them for the first time. The awarded certificate is valid for 3 years.
