Alan Svoboda has been elected a member of the CEZ Board

Alan Svoboda has been elected a new member of the CEZ Board as from 27. 4. 2004 at today´s meeting of the Supervisory Board.

Alan Svoboda has been working in the Power Company CEZ as an Executive Director Sales since 1 April this year.  The post in the Board, from which Josef Sedlak, the present Vice-Chairman of the Board, resigned by letter on 19. 4. 2004, has been filled by this election. "There has been no competent trade-person in the CEZ Board recently. This situation has become untenable in the long term, in the time of the gradual liberalization of the electricity market, when it is necessary to put emphasis on trade. For this reason, in agreement with the other members of the CEZ management, I decided to take this step", said Josef Sedlak.

Martin Roman, the Chairman of the CEZ Board and the CEO added:

"Mr. Sedlak did a lot of work during his activity in the Board. He continues to work in a key position in the CEZ management".
