On March 15, 2007, supply company CEZ Vanzare (similar to CEZ Prodej in the Czech Republic) was detached from it, and the name of Electrica Oltenia was changed to CEZ Distributie. The company will be engaged only in the regulated electricity distribution activity. In 2006, the operating profit of Electrica Oltenia grew year-on-yearly by 142 % to nearly two billion crowns.
