ČEZ newly publishes its production process data on the EEX portal

The German-based energy exchange EEX has enlarged its platform "Transparency on Energy Markets" with the Czech Republic. Therefore, ČEZ, like numerous companies from Austria and Germany, is going to publish the availability of its resources, outage plans and downtimes on this platform from this date onwards. The aim of this is to present the production processes in a comprehensive way. Taking this step, the company meets the European directive REMIT, which has required producers to present these data since 28 December 2011.

"We are entering the EEX in order to be more transparent, as this portal also presents complete data from other providers. On the whole, this will contribute to better transparency in the generation of electricity and it helps us to meet the REMIT requirements," said Michal Skalka, Director of ČEZ Group Trading Department.

Market participants as well as other persons interested will on the www.transparency.eex.com find daily updated data of the actual production, installed capacity, available capacity and planned outages of nuclear, coal and hydro power plants of the ČEZ Group. The information about any unplanned downtime will be published immediately after this event occurs.

Since the end of 2011, ČEZ has been publishing complete information about the condition of the production portfolio on the following website: http://www.cez.cz/cs/vyroba-elektriny/remit.html.

ČEZ was the Czech Republic's first producer to voluntarily publish the availability of its power plants as early as 2007. Next, ČEZ acknowledged the requirements of EU Regulation No 1227/2011 of  the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on the wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT), under which individual persons professionally arranging transactions on this market are required to provide for efficient and timely publication of all information which might exert an impact upon the energy market.
