The proposed amount of CEZ´s dividend: 8 CZK

Yesterday´s meeting of the Board of CEZ power company decided on a proposal for the amount of a dividend from the last year´s profit, which is going to be submitted to the general meeting on June 17, 2004. The Board is going to propose a gross dividend in the amount of 8 CZK per share (nominal value 100 CZK).

The proposed amount of a dividend represents an increase of 78 per cent on the dividend paid in the previous year, when it was 4.5 CZK/share. The total amount for dividends is assessed at over 4.7 billion CZK. The outstanding year-on-year increase in the proposed dividend reflects the extraordinary economic results of CEZ for 2003, which were based on the unrepeatable income from the sale of 66% share in CEPS (transmission system operator). The profit of CEZ after tax reached the amount of 13.9 billion CZK for 2003, and increased more than twice compared to last year.
