Energy-Saving Projects Saved Cities, Municipalities and Public Administration over CZK 300 Million

*The annual guaranteed savings of ČEZ ESCO EPC projects are CZK 200 million

*Savings in 2022 energy prices exceeded CZK 300 million

*The savings potential in public buildings in the Czech Republic is estimated at CZK 20 billion

A total of 32 energy-saving projects designed using the EPC method and now operated by ENESA from ČEZ ESCO saved CZK 227 million in electricity, gas, heat and water costs last year in the prices of the project’s reference years. Converted to last year’s high energy prices, it was over CZK 300 million. The highest savings were achieved by Prague Congress Centre, but record savings were also reported by projects in hospitals and industry. The CO2 equivalent savings amounted to 45,400 tonnes, equivalent to 17 days of operation of a conventional 100 MW coal-fired power plant.

ČEZ ESCO Will Build the Largest Battery in the Czech Republic in Vítkovice. The House-sized Battery Will Help Stabilise the Czech Energy Grid

*The battery storage capacity is 10 MW and it exceeds the current largest battery in the Czech Republic by more than 40%.

*The system can hold 9.45 MWh of energy, three times the size of the ČEZ battery in Tušimice.

*It provides power balancing services, mainly primary frequency control.

*ČEZ wants to build 300 MW of storage capacity by 2030.

ČEZ is gradually meeting one of its goals announced in its Clean Energy Tomorrow strategy: to build new energy storage facilities with a capacity of 300 MW by 2030. The latest contribution is the largest battery in the Czech Republic with an output of 10 MW, which is being built under the supervision of ČEZ ESCO on the premises of Energocentrum Vítkovice and will be fully operational in the second half of this year. The storage system will support the transformation of the Czech power sector and contribute to the stabilisation of the power grid by providing power balance services.

Photovoltaic technology the size of a football field going up in the centre of Prague: 2080 panels will cover 10% of the Prague Congress Centre's consumption and save CZK 5.5 million per year

The construction of the largest photovoltaic power plant in the centre of Prague has begun at the Prague Congress Centre (KCP). A total of 2080 solar panels will be erected on an area of 7000 square metres, saving the Prague Congress Centre CZK 5.5 million in electricity costs annually. Photovoltaic technology will complement one of the largest energy saving projects in the Czech Republic, which is being implemented at the KCP by ENESA, a subsidiary of ČEZ ESCO. The project has saved the centre CZK 32 million this year.

Green food storage: one of the largest rooftop photovoltaics in the Czech Republic launched on the roof of Billa’s central warehouse

A power plant from ČEZ ESCO will cover 22% of the consumption of the Modletice warehouse near Prague, which supplies all of the company’s supermarkets in the Czech Republic. The facility, with a total capacity of 1 MWp, will produce 1084 MWh of clean electricity per year, saving 527 tons of CO2, an amount that would be captured by 60 hectares of forest in one year. The customised orientation of the panels on the roof ensures that the power plant’s production is spread relatively evenly throughout the day.
