ČEZ nuclear power plants are the first in the world to undergo an information and cybernetic security audit
The condition and set-up of protection of information systems of nuclear power plants, as well as employee awareness of the importance of information and cyber security and compliance, and the compliance of existing conditions at ČEZ with statutory requirements. Those are only examples of areas on which an audit of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) focused. Dukovany and Temelín are among the world’s first nuclear facilities to successfully undergo the process.

Interest in emission-free nuclear power is growing. ČEZ ESCO newly supplies it to Spolchemie
Floor coverings, durable coatings for kitchen appliances, and pharmaceuticals – that is just a small example of the broad range of applications for the products of SPOLCHEMIE, a Czech chemical company with a 165-year history, which relies on ecology, modernises its production processes, and reduces its carbon footprint. A newly concluded contract with ČEZ ESCO for the supply of emission-free electricity will help the company achieve “greener” production. From now through to the end of 2024, SPOLCHEMIE will purchase more than 900 GWh of electricity generated in Czech nuclear power plants. The interest in clean electricity among large companies is also growing in connection with meeting European climate commitments.

ČEZ plans to go after hackers. It puts tens of millions into increasing its cyber security every year
• Last year, ČEZ detected 6.5 times more suspicious activity in its networks than three years ago.
• The newly launched security monitoring centre – the iSOC (Integrated Security Operations Center) oversees the protection of ČEZ Group in terms of physical, information, and cyber security. • The protection of critical information infrastructure in the Czech Republic is one of the priorities of the newly established National Coordination Centre for Research and Development in the Field of Cyber Security. The energy company ČEZ opened its new Integrated Security Operations Center – iSOC, which oversees the cyber security of ČEZ Group’s information systems, in the presence of senior representatives of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB), Military Intelligence (VZ), and Czech Police (PČR). The centre’s task is not only to detect security events and incidents and activate the necessary countermeasures as quickly as possible, but also to oversee their effective resolution and, above all, to prevent security events in the future.
