ČEZ joins the jubilee year: Tens of thousands of people in distraint can take advantage of the opportunity to rid themselves of utilities debts

The energy company ČEZ is joining the nation-wide project called Jubilee Year, a debt jubilee that enables debtors to free themselves of execution conducted against them, if their debt is to a public institution or a company in which the state has a majority stake. For people with utility debts, ČEZ is launching a special website, www.cez.cz/cs/milostive-leto, where everyone interested can find detailed instructions on how to proceed. This one-time opportunity is available to tens of thousands of debtors in distraint, until 28 January 2022.

ČEZ nuclear power plants are the first in the world to undergo an information and cybernetic security audit

The condition and set-up of protection of information systems of nuclear power plants, as well as employee awareness of the importance of information and cyber security and compliance, and the compliance of existing conditions at ČEZ with statutory requirements. Those are only examples of areas on which an audit of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) focused. Dukovany and Temelín are among the world’s first nuclear facilities to successfully undergo the process.

Interest in emission-free nuclear power is growing. ČEZ ESCO newly supplies it to Spolchemie

Floor coverings, durable coatings for kitchen appliances, and pharmaceuticals – that is just a small example of the broad range of applications for the products of SPOLCHEMIE, a Czech chemical company with a 165-year history, which relies on ecology, modernises its production processes, and reduces its carbon footprint. A newly concluded contract with ČEZ ESCO for the supply of emission-free electricity will help the company achieve “greener” production. From now through to the end of 2024, SPOLCHEMIE will purchase more than 900 GWh of electricity generated in Czech nuclear power plants. The interest in clean electricity among large companies is also growing in connection with meeting European climate commitments.

ČEZ aims to be among the top 20% of energy companies in sustainability rating by the decade’s end. A new department will see to it.

By the end of this decade, CEZ Group wants to be between the 20% of the best-rated energy companies in Europe in terms of sustainability ratings. The new ESG department led by Katerina Bohuslavová as the Chief Sustainability Officer will see to the fulfilment of the goal. ESG indicators play an increasing role in the decision-making not only of investors, banks, and insurance companies, but also customers and employees.
