Škoda Auto and the energy company ČEZ will build another photovoltaic power plant in Mladá Boleslav

ŠKODA AUTO is putting increasing emphasis on energy from CO2-neutral sources. To that end, it will expand its cooperation with the energy company ČEZ. Agreement was reached today by Thomas Schäfer, Chairman of the Management Board of ŠKODA AUTO, and Daniel Beneš, Chairman of the Management Board of ČEZ. From the second half of this decade, the energy required for the production of cars and components at ŠKODA AUTO production plants in the Czech Republic will be derived 100% from renewable sources. Another joint project of ŠKODA AUTO and ČEZ is the construction of the largest rooftop photovoltaic power plant in the Czech Republic, which will be deployed at the main ŠKODA AUTO plant in Mladá Boleslav later this year.

› ŠKODA AUTO CEO Thomas Schäfer and Daniel Beneš, CEO of the ČEZ Group, agree on extended collaboration on construction projects for sustainable energy generation › ŠKODA AUTO commissions ČEZ with the construction and operation of the largest roof photovoltaic system in the Czech Republic while ŠKO-ENERGO will be responsible for project coordination › At ŠKODA AUTO’s Czech plants, energy for vehicle and component production will come exclusively from CO2 neutral sources from the second half of this decade onwards Mladá Boleslav, 12 February 2021 – ŠKODA AUTO is increasingly focusing on renewable energy and today, ŠKODA AUTO CEO Thomas Schäfer and Daniel Beneš, CEO of the ČEZ Group, agreed to expand collaboration between ŠKODA AUTO and energy supplier ČEZ. From the second half of this decade, the energy required for the manufacture of vehicles and components at ŠKODA AUTO’s Czech plants will come entirely from renewable sources. The next joint project between ŠKODA AUTO and ČEZ is the construction of the largest roof photovoltaic system in the Czech Republic, which is set to be connected to the grid at ŠKODA AUTO’s headquarters in Mladá Boleslav later this year.

Vulog from the portfolio of the ČEZ investment fund heads to New York to get 31 million dollars from the EIB and existing investors

The money will be used to affirm Vulog’s position as a leading provider of technologies in the sphere of clean shared mobility and for further expansion in Europe and both North and South America. The Inven Capital fund acquired a minority stake in the French company in 2017, when it and other investors provided 20 million dollars to Vulog. Shared mobility driven by Vulog’s technology operates in more than 30 cities on five continents. Thanks to the 95% electrification of the contracted fleets, 200,000 tonnes of CO2 from transport is saved every year.

Písek transfers to electric buses. It has five charging stations and two ultra-fast 170kW stands

Písek public transit is making a complete switch to electric drive. Five new electric buses will have their base on premises with seven charging stations that were delivered by ČEZ ESCO as turnkey projects. With the renewal of its public transit fleet, the city on the Otava River is fulfilling its Smart Písek strategy. ČEZ has also supported individual mobility in Písek for some time, operating three rapid charging stations.
