Employment
- There are approximately 2,800 staff working at the two nuclear power plants – Dukovany and Temelín. In addition, our contractors employ hundreds of others to take care of the power plants.
- Work at a nuclear power plant is suited for people with secondary or tertiary education, in particular graduates in technical disciplines.
- We plan to significantly develop the Temelín nuclear site. In 2022, the South Bohemia Nuclear Park was established by the ČEZ Group, in association with the South Bohemian Region and the corporation ÚJV Řež. The purpose of the project is to accelerate the preparation and introduction of modular reactors in the Czech Republic. One of the first small modular reactors in the Czech Republic should be built at the Temelín PP site. In the future, two large blocks should also be built there, as had been originally planned.
- Work at a nuclear plant is prestigious, very well paid, safe, and respected, offering prospects for literally many generations to come. In the long-term, nuclear energy will play a crucial role in achieving energy self-sufficiency for the Czech Republic.
- We are enhancing our cooperation with the Secondary School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in České Budějovice, which opened a programme custom-made for the Temelín nuclear power plant – Electrical Energy Studies. The students selected annually complete their compulsory internships at the Temelín power plant. Additionally, a new programme – Welding and Pipe Fitting for the Nuclear Energy Sector – is under review for accreditation at the Hněvkovice Secondary Professional and Secondary Vocational School, which is designed to train future staff primarily for companies supplying logical units to nuclear power plants.
