An ignited can posed no threat to safety
Today, the intervention of firefighters in one of the auxiliary buildings at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant lasted less than a minute. The reason was the ignition of a thinner can. Neither the plant's operation nor its safety was threatened. The event was without financial damage, no one was hurt. The power plant informed the State Office for Nuclear Safety about the event.

INFORMATION ON NPP TEMELÍN 118 / 2019
Unit 2 is in the planned outage for refuelling. Unit 1 is in operation at full rated power. The auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

Temelín will replace fuel at Unit 2
Refueling, safety system checks, sixty investment projects, or replacement of an electricity generation part. These are just examples of the most important works to be performed during the planned Unit 2 outage. Overall, technicians are planning to carry out nearly twelve thousand activities and want to do everything within two months.
